Glass Recycling
Glass is one of the easiest materials to recycle as the number of times a glass bottle or jar can be sorted, crushed, melted and reconstructed into a new bottle is limitless – it is the ultimate ‘closed loop’ recycling material. Glass recycling is also extremely beneficial to the environment, using less energy and decreasing the volume of waste materials going to landfill. And because it is heavy, recycling glass has a really positive effect on your recycling rate.
- Any colour of glass bottles and jars are suitable for recycling
- For customers with a high volume of glass waste, daily collections are available
- Collected glass is transported to a specialist facility, crushed and then used to produce new glass products in the UK
